Privacy policy

This policy covers the USB-C to HDMI Cast Phone to TV app for Android (package tv.screen.cast.hdmi.usb.connector) and the website usbctohdmi.com. It is written to be read, not skimmed. If anything is unclear, email support@usbctohdmi.com.

What the app does with your media

The app reads photos, videos and music stored on your phone so it can display them on a connected TV. The files are decoded on the phone and sent over the HDMI cable, or over your local Wi-Fi network in Browser Cast mode. Your media never leaves your phone to reach our servers. We do not upload, copy, index or analyse it.

Permissions

• Photos, videos and audio. Required to list and play your media. Denying it disables casting.
• Nearby devices and local network. Used only by Browser Cast to serve media to the TV browser on your network.
• Notifications. Used to show a persistent notification while casting so Android does not stop playback.

The app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone or phone permissions.

Accounts

The app has no account system. We do not collect your name, email address or password.

Purchases

Paid features are sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment and shares with us only a purchase token and order identifier so the app can unlock the feature and we can handle refunds. We do not receive your card details.

Analytics and crash reporting

We use third-party SDKs to understand how the app is used and to detect crashes. These may collect a device identifier, device model, operating system version, app version, country derived from IP address, and events such as app opens and feature use. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

Advertising

The free version shows ads served by third-party advertising networks. These networks may use the Android advertising ID to show relevant ads and measure them. You can reset the advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in Android settings under Google, Ads. Paid versions do not show ads.

The website

usbctohdmi.com is a static site hosted on Vercel. Server logs record IP address, user agent and requested pages for security and capacity purposes and are retained for a short period by the hosting provider. We may use privacy-preserving, cookie-less analytics to count page views. Links to Amazon are affiliate links and are governed by Amazon's privacy policy once you click through.

Children

The app and site are not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Data retention and deletion

Because we hold no account data, there is nothing to delete on request beyond aggregated analytics, which cannot be tied to you. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored settings. To ask about any data connected to a purchase, email support@usbctohdmi.com with your Google Play order number.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to processing. Contact us at support@usbctohdmi.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes

We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
